View across Dining to Kitchen

Our clients wanted a remodel that would open up and combine their kitchen and family room. They also wanted to add stairs down to the rear yard.  Their home is a narrow, 3 story Victorian (typical San Francisco, circa 1900).

Being professional designers with a modern aesthetic, they envisioned blending contemporary design with existing traditional Victorian elements.

We developed plans that successfully merged contemporary and Victorian styles, channeling design esthetics from Carlo Scarpa, an Italian 20th century architect, much to the satisfaction of our clients. Our process involved working with a quality contractor and builder, and went very smoothly thanks to planning, teamwork, communication and project oversight.
